What is Arithmetic

Arithmetic is a branch of mathematics in which we studied the numbers and relations among numbers. 

The basic arithmetic operations are addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Topics in arithmetic also includes whole numbers, place value, fractions, factoring, decimals, integers, percentages, exponents, proportions, word problems.

Addition : 15 + 6 = 21,   23 + 5 = 28,    12 + 14 = 27

Subtraction : 25 – 10 = 15,  13 – 4 = 9,  55 – 25 = 30

3.5 – 2.1 = 1.4,  4.8 – 3.2 = 1.6,  8.5 – 6.2 = 2.3

Multiplication : 10 x 10 = 100,  12 x 5 = 60,  25 x 6 = 150

5/4 x 3 = 15/4,  2/3 x 3 =2,  16/5 x 4 =  64/5

Division : 27 ÷ 3 = 9,  36 ÷ 6 = 6,  45 ÷ 5 = 9
