Properties of Division
Division – Properties
1. When zero is divided by a number the quotient is zero.
Example:
1. 0 ÷ 5 = 0
2. 0 ÷ 7 = 0
3. 0 ÷ 11 = 0
4. 0 ÷ 25 = 0
5. 0 ÷ 224 = 0
6. 0 ÷ 635 = 0
7. 0 ÷ 4653 = 0
2. If we divide any number by one, the quotient is the number itself.
Example:
1. 6 ÷ 1 = 6
2. 7 ÷ 1 = 7
3. 16 ÷ 1 = 16
4. 25 ÷ 1 = 25
5. 326 ÷ 1 = 326
6. 781 ÷ 1 = 781
7. 5469 ÷ 1 = 5469
3. if we divide a non zero number by itself, the quotient is one.
Example:
1. 5 ÷ 5 = 1
2. 17 ÷ 17 = 1
3. 74 ÷ 74 = 1
4. 25 ÷ 25 = 1
5. 234 ÷ 234 = 1
6. 868 ÷ 868 = 1
7. 4653 ÷ 4653 = 1
4. Division of a number by zero is not possible.
Example: We cannot divide 24 by zero.
