Exponent and Power – Difference

Exponent can be define as the number of times a certain number is used in the multiplication. Power can be define as the number of times a number is multiplied by itself.
Exponent is always written as a superscript of the number to which the power is raised.Power is the whole expression including the base and exponent.
The exponent has only one part which is mentioned in its superscript.The base and the exponent are two elements of power.
Exponents are added when powers are multiplied
2² x 2³ = 2⁵.
Powers can be multiplied when two powers have the same base number.
2² x 2³ = 2⁵.
In 3³ = 3 x 3 x 3, 3 is the exponent which stands for the number of times the value is to be multiplied with 3 being the base. In 3³ = 3 x 3 x 3, is the base which is to be multiplied thrice by itself and it could be called 3 to the power 3 or 3 to third power. Here power is the expression.
