# Quadratic Equation Introduction

**Quadratic Equation Introduction**

**If p(x) is a polynomial of degree 2, of any equation in the form p(x) = 0, is a Quadratic equation.**

But when we write the terms of polynomial p(x) in descending order of their degree, then we get the standard form of a Quadratic equation. that is

** “ax ^{2 }+ bx + c = 0″, a ≠ 0.**

A Quadratic equation is an equation in standard form

“**a**x^{2 }+ **b**x + **c** = 0″,

**where x is Example, a, b, c, are real numbers, and a ≠ 0.**

Example- (1) x^{2 }– 4x + 5 = 0

(2) x^{2 } + 3x – 4 = 0

(3) 3x^{2 } + 5x – 7 = 0 are Quadratic equations.
