Definition & Example – Proper Subset – Super Set – Singleton Set
Proper Subset – Super Set – Singleton Set
Definition:
Proper Subset & Super Set
A and B are two sets. If A⊂B and A ≠ B, then A is called a ‘Proper Subset’ of B, and B is called ‘Super set’ of A.
Example: A = {a, b, c} and B = {a, b, c, d},
In above example A⊂B and A ≠ B,
then A is called a proper subset of B, and B is called Super set of A.
Singleton Set
If a set has only one element is known as ‘Singleton Set.’
Example: A = {a}
In above set, set A has only one element a,
Thus set A is called Singleton Set.
