Representation of numbers on Number Line
Natural numbers
Natural numbers : A set of counting numbers, is known as natural numbers.
N = (1, 2, 3, 4, 5,…..)
This is a number line for Natural Numbers.
Whole numbers
Whole numbers : When we add the number zero (0) to the natural numbers, we get whole numbers.
W = (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,…..)
This is a number line for Whole Numbers.
Rational numbers
Rational numbers : Numbers which can be written in the form p/q, where p is and q are integers and q≠0, p is numerator and q is non zero denominator called rational numbers.
Q = (a/b, where a and b are integers but b ≠ 0)
This is a number line for Rational Numbers.
Integers
Integers : An integer is a whole number(not a fraction) that can be positive, negative, or zero.
Z = (…-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,…..
This is a number line for Integers.
