Representation of numbers on Number Line

Natural numbers

Natural numbers : A set of counting numbers, is known as natural numbers.

N = (1, 2, 3, 4, 5,…..)

This is a number line for Natural Numbers.

Whole numbers

Whole numbers : When we add the number zero (0) to the natural numbers, we get whole numbers.

W = (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,…..)

This is a number line for Whole Numbers.

Rational numbers

Rational numbers : Numbers which can be written in the form p/q,  where p is and q are integers and q≠0, p is numerator and q is non zero denominator called rational numbers.

Q = (a/b, where a and b are integers but b ≠ 0) 

This is a number line for Rational Numbers.

Integers

Integers : An integer is a whole number(not a fraction) that can be positive, negative, or zero.

Z = (…-3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3,…..

This is a number line for Integers.
