Lines of symmetry in a regular Pentagon

What is line of symmetry ?

The line of symmetry is the imaginary line where we could fold the image and have both halves match exactly.

If a given line splits a given figure into two identical halves, we say that the line has a line of symmetry or that the figure is symmetrical about the line and line is called a line of symmetry or the axis of symmetry.

A shape may have more than one line of symmetry depending on its angles and the lengths of each side.

For example, a rectangle has two lines of symmetry because it can be folded in half both horizontally and vertically to create mirror images.

A regular pentagon is a polygon with five equal sides and five equal angles.

Below figure shows lines of symmetry in a regular pentagon.

There are five lines of symmetry in a regular pentagon with equal sides and angles. This is due to the fact that a pentagon may be folded in half five different ways such that one side perfectly fits the other.
